Jhabua, Feb. 12, 2026: Nearly 90 young Catholic students gathered at the Bishop’s House in Meghnagar on Wednesday for a Career Guidance Programme organised by the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Jhabua, an initiative aimed at integrating professional orientation with spiritual discernment.
The day-long programme sought to equip students with clarity and direction as they navigate academic and career decisions, while grounding those choices in faith. Addressing the gathering, Fr. Vishal Mal, Diocesan Youth Director, underscored the need for focus and discipline in shaping one’s future. He urged participants to approach career decisions with seriousness and commitment, stressing that proper guidance and perseverance are essential to long-term success.
A key session was led by Mr. Francis Mal, who encouraged students to consider preparing for the civil services examinations. Drawing from his experience, he motivated the youth to set ambitious goals, maintain consistency in their preparation, and cultivate determination in pursuing competitive careers.
Offering broader perspectives on professional opportunities, Mr. Munsingh Mal of All India Radio, Akashvani, addressed the challenges young people face in an age of distractions. He advised students to remain steady in their efforts and introduced them to career prospects in technical departments, highlighting practical and alternative pathways beyond conventional choices.
The programme also placed significant emphasis on spiritual formation. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Sylvester Meda, Secretary of the Diocese, with Fr. Vishal Mal as concelebrant. In his homily, Fr. Sylvester encouraged the youth to pray sincerely for clarity regarding their vocation and life’s purpose. He called on them to dedicate time for reflection and to seek God’s guidance in discerning their true calling.
Further guidance was offered by Mr. Shubham Gundiya, who outlined opportunities and growth prospects within the education sector. Mrs. Seva Gundiya, a lawyer and social worker, added a note of inspiration, urging students to think ambitiously, remain focused, and pursue their goals with consistent effort.
By combining professional insights with spiritual reflection, the Diocese of Jhabua’s Youth Commission provided a structured platform for young Catholics to gain confidence and direction, reaffirming the Church’s commitment to holistic youth formation.
