NISCORT Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Brahma Kumaris, Strengthens Interfaith Ties

NEW DELHI, August 25, 2026: NISCORT Media College celebrated Raksha Bandhan with members of the Brahma Kumaris on Monday, bringing students, faculty and members of two faith communities together in a spirit of friendship and fraternity.

The annual celebration, initiated in 2021 by NISCORT Director Robinson Rodrigues, has become a regular feature of the institution’s activities.

As part of the programme, Brahma Kumaris member Lovely Didi tied Rakhi to Rodrigues, Principal Ritu Dubey Tiwari and members of the college staff. Rodrigues reciprocated by presenting gifts to the Brahma Kumaris as a gesture of respect and goodwill.

Rupali Didi, Gyanesh Bhai and Ramesh Bhai of the Brahma Kumaris also participated in the celebration.

Speaking on the spiritual significance of Raksha Bandhan, Lovely Didi said the festival reminds people of their inherent goodness and encourages love, care and respect in human relationships.

“All human beings are intrinsically good. The Creator has created us all good, but influenced by the evil in the world we lose our goodness,” she said, adding that Raksha Bandhan offers an opportunity to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters.

The programme also featured a session on self-appreciation led by Gyanesh Bhai for students and staff. Participants subsequently took a pledge against substance abuse under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Thanking the Brahma Kumaris for continuing the tradition at NISCORT, Rodrigues said such celebrations helped bring communities together through love and mutual respect.

He described the Rakhi not merely as a thread but as “a bond of humanity” that reminds people of their common identity as brothers and sisters and children of one Creator.

The celebration concluded with an emphasis on fraternity and mutual goodwill, highlighting the potential of cultural and religious festivals to build bridges between communities and promote respect and social harmony.
