Little Saints’ Retreat Brings 200 Delhi Children Together to Learn the Art of Loving

New Delhi, August 25, 2026: Around 200 children aged between seven and 12 took part in the Little Saints’ Retreat 2026 at the DCC Hall of Sacred Heart Cathedral on August 16, focusing on the theme, “The Art of Loving.”

The annual retreat was entrusted by the Archdiocese of Delhi to the Focolare Movement, which organised the programme in collaboration with parishioners of Holy Spirit Church, Alaknanda, and animators from the Little Saints’ League.

Months of preparation went into planning the retreat, which opened with Holy Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Deepak Tauro of Delhi. Fr Jais Jose, Director of the Little Saints’ League, and Msgr Vincent D’Souza, Vicar General, concelebrated the Eucharist.

The children participated actively in the celebration before joining a series of activities designed to help them understand God’s love and express it through their everyday actions.

Music, action songs, group games, video clips and moments of reflection formed the core of the programme. Two emcees led the children through the activities with a lively and creative approach that kept them engaged throughout the day.

Each participant received a “Cube of Love”, designed to remind children of practical ways of putting love into action in their daily lives. A large team of animators coordinated the various activities and accompanied the children throughout the retreat.

Bishop Deepak Tauro appreciated the growing number of animators involved in the programme and encouraged them to continue contributing to the faith formation of children.

For the young participants, the retreat provided an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with Jesus while learning to translate love into concrete actions. The adults involved also experienced renewed enthusiasm, built new relationships and discovered opportunities to share their talents.

The retreat concluded with a renewed commitment among the organisers and animators to the formation of younger generations, with the theme of loving others reflected through prayer, fellowship, service and practical acts of kindness.
