Karwar, August 12, 2025: The Diocesan Family Commission of Karwar Diocese conducted a series of Remote Preparation Courses for students from Class 7 to 2nd PUC, equipping them with values, skills, and spiritual grounding for their future family life. The sessions, based on the Growing Joyfully syllabus, were held at the parish level across three locations in July and August 2025.
Lower Kasarkod Parish hosted the first course on 26 July with 80 participants, followed by Prabhat Nagar Parish on 27 July with 50 students. The final session took place at Kajubagh Parish on 10 August, drawing 70 participants. Parish clergy, catechists, and volunteers played a key role in facilitating and coordinating each event.
The programme covered themes such as personal dignity as children of God, healthy relationships, emotional management, positive habits, and cultivating prayer and service. Interactive methods—group discussions, storytelling, and role plays—kept students engaged, while scriptural reflections and Catholic teachings offered a firm spiritual foundation. Practical guidance helped participants apply Christian values in daily life and prepare for future responsibilities within a family.
Participants and organisers reported highly positive feedback, noting personal growth, a stronger connection with God, and the ability to apply the course’s lessons in their homes, schools, and communities. The Diocesan Family Commission extended gratitude to facilitators, parish priests, and volunteers, commending the host parishes for their hospitality.
