ICYM Mysore Elects New Diocesan Executive Committee

Mysuru, November 18, 2025 — Pastoral formation and youth leadership took centre stage as the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) held its Diocesan Executive Committee (DEXCO) election meeting at the Catholic Centre, Bannimantap. Representatives from parishes across Mysuru gathered at 9:30 a.m. for a day of formation, discernment, and election of new youth leaders.

The programme began with the Rosary, after which Fr. Maria Xavier, diocesan youth director, led a formation session on youth responsibilities. He highlighted the need for young Catholics to embrace leadership rooted in service, faith, and commitment to community life, encouraging them to be “active contributors to the mission entrusted to today’s youth.”

Following the session, the election was conducted with enthusiastic participation from parish delegates, resulting in the selection of the new DEXCO team for 2025.

The Eucharistic was presided over by Fr. Marie Joseph, Director of the Catholic Centre. The newly elected office bearers were formally installed during the liturgy, taking their oath of office and pledging to lead the diocesan youth with unity and dedication.
