Interfaith Harmony Conference at Eidgah Gobindgarh Unites Leaders Across Faiths

Punjab, Nov 18 , 2025: An inspiring assembly of leaders from religious, social, and political spheres held at the Eidgah in Gobindgarh, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, on 16 November 2025 for an Interfaith Harmony Conference promoting unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among diverse traditions.

Organised by Majlis-e-Ahrar under the leadership of Nazam Ali (President), Saif Ahmed (Vice President), and Md. Arif (President, Halka Amloh Mandi Gobindgarh), and guided by the dedicated coordination of Maulana Muhammad Usman Rehmani Ludhianvi, Shahi Imam Punjab, the event became a vibrant space for sincere dialogue and shared reflections.

The conference was enriched by the presence of dignitaries such as Fr. Norbert Herman SVD, Gur Sahib Singh, Raju Khanna of the Shiromani Akali Dal, senior BJP leader Jagdeep Cheep, Dr. Vinay Sofat from the Sanatan tradition, Congress MP Dr. Amar Singh, AAP MLA Garry Birring, and many others who contributed their voices to the collective mission.

Throughout the gathering, speakers emphasised the universal call to uphold human dignity, compassion, and understanding, reaffirming that the true strength of society lies in its ability to embrace diversity with openness and goodwill. Representing the Christian community, Fr. Norbert Herman SVD offered a heartfelt reflection on the life and example of Jesus, who stood with the poor and marginalised, reminding the audience that faith invites us not to compete but to complement one another on the shared journey toward peace.

Religious leaders from various backgrounds echoed these messages, highlighting the core values of their faith traditions and their commitment to strengthening interfaith relationships.

The conference concluded with a renewed sense of solidarity and hope, inspired by the remarkable turnout of over 1,500 people, whose participation underscored the community’s deep desire for harmony, unity, and a future shaped by mutual respect.
