Odia Playback And Devotional Singer Humane Sagar Dies at 34

Bhubaneswar, November 18, 2025: Humane Sagar, one of Odisha’s most popular playback and devotional singers, died on 17 November 2025 at AIIMS Bhubaneswar due to severe multi-organ failure. He was 34. The singer, born on 25 November 1990 in Titlagarh, had been admitted with multi-organ dysfunction, chronic liver complications, pneumonia and cardiac distress.

Humane Sagar, widely admired for his emotional voice and musical versatility, rose to prominence after winning Voice of Odisha – Season 2 in 2012. His breakthrough in mainstream Odia music came with the hit track Ishq Tu Hi Tu, after which he became one of the most recognisable voices in Ollywood, contributing to hundreds of film and non-film songs.

Alongside his work in cinema, Sagar was deeply rooted in Christian devotional music. Growing up in a musical Christian family where both parents were church singers, he went on to record more than 1,000 devotional songs. These compositions remain widely used in prayer gatherings, retreats and parish choirs across Odisha, earning him a special place in the hearts of many faithful.

Humane Sagar’s death has left a profound void in both Odisha’s cultural landscape and its Christian devotional music tradition. His legacy lives on in the countless songs that touched lives with hope, emotion and spiritual depth.
