Bhopal, April 14, 2026: Proclaiming that “hope persists even in the darkest times,” Archbishop Durairaj urged the faithful to draw strength from the Resurrection as Easter Mahotsav 2026 brought together the Catholic community of Bhopal in a vibrant celebration of faith and unity.
Held on April 12 at St. Joseph Co-Ed School, the Mahotsav gathered parishioners, youth, families and various parish groups from across the archdiocese, creating a visible expression of communion rooted in the joy of the Risen Christ.
In his address, Archbishop Durairaj reflected on the central message of Easter, reminding the faithful that just as Christ triumphed over death, so too can individuals rise above life’s trials. Emphasising resilience and renewal, he called on the community to become living witnesses of hope, carrying the light of the Resurrection into their homes and society.
The evening programme began at 6:30 p.m. and unfolded through a rich blend of prayer, music and cultural performances. Faith-based presentations highlighted the significance of the Resurrection, encouraging participants to deepen their commitment to Christian life and mission.
The venue, adorned with symbols of new life, reinforced the spiritual atmosphere of the celebration. The presence of clergy, religious and lay faithful further strengthened the sense of unity, as the gathering became both a festive and reflective moment for the local Church.
Beyond celebration, the Mahotsav served as an occasion of collective renewal, inspiring participants to embrace their call to radiate Christ’s love in everyday life. As the event concluded, the enduring message of Easter remained clear—hope does not fade, but is continually renewed through faith in the Risen Lord.
