Chikmagalur Diocese Charts Three-Year Pastoral Mission Roadmap

Chikmagalur, 28 November 2025 — Chikmagalur diocese held a two-day Review and Planning Meeting for its diocesan Pastoral Commissions at Spoorthi Sadana, bringing together clergy, religious and newly appointed lay representatives to evaluate current pastoral work and plan mission priorities for 2026–2028, with a focus on collaboration, synodality and strengthened grassroots ministry.

The sessions were coordinated by Fr. David Prakash, diocesan Coordinator of the Commissions, who facilitated discussions on achievements and challenges in implementing pastoral initiatives. An input session by Regional Coordinator Fr. Anil Joyal Prasad opened the programme, followed by commission reports and strategic planning in groups.

Bishop T. Anthony Swamy presided at the Holy Eucharist, praying for a fruitful mission ahead. Fr. Naveen Pinto from the diocese of Mangalore later encouraged participants to ensure that all commission activities remain people-centred and integrated into parish life.

Each commission concluded the meeting by presenting detailed action plans for evangelisation, faith formation, social outreach and missionary engagement. The diocese affirmed that the renewed momentum reinforces communion, participation, listening and shared responsibility in its synodal mission.
