Goa, Nov 27, 2025: The Jubilee of Young People, organised by the Diocesan Youth Centre (DYC), was observed across the Archdiocese of Goa & Daman on the Sunday dedicated to the Youth Apostolate. The celebration unfolded at the zonal level in three churches designated as pious places for the Jubilee: St. Jerome Church, Mapusa; Se Catedral Church, Old Goa; and Holy Spirit Church, Margao.
Leaders from Parish Youth Groups across the archdiocese participated in the event, arriving prepared after receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist. The North Zone drew around 150 young leaders from six deaneries, the Central Zone welcomed about 130 leaders from four deaneries, and the South Zone saw the participation of approximately 250 leaders from nine deaneries. Parish priests, assistant priests, and youth volunteers from the host parishes offered strong support throughout the celebration.
The celebration included energetic dance animations, an input session by Fr. Blaise Lobo, Director of DYC-Goa, a pilgrim walk carrying the Youth Pilgrim Cross, entry through the Holy Door, and a period of Eucharistic Adoration.
The Jubilee of Young People was described as a fruitful venture, made possible through the collaboration of the Deanery Priest Youth Animators (DPYA) and the clergy of the three host parishes. Young leaders expressed their joy in taking part, sharing that the celebration helped them make a pilgrimage and receive the plenary indulgence, along with the message that “hope doesn’t disappoint us” when we mend our relationship with God.
