Youth Embrace Faith and Leadership at Life Orientation Programme 2025 in Varanasi

Ghazipur, 22 May, 2025 — The Life Orientation Programme (LOP) 2025 was launched with spiritual fervour and youthful energy at St. John’s School, Tulsipur, Ghazipur. Organised by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Diocese of Varanasi, the event runs from 22 to 31 May 2025.


The programme was officially inaugurated by Most Rev. Bishop Eugene Joseph, Bishop of Varanasi, who celebrated the Inaugural Holy Mass, invoking blessings upon participants and organisers.


A highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic hoisting of the flags: Saurabh, Media Secretary and Diocesan Youth Media Secretary (DYMS), raised the ICYM India Flag, while Akash Kumar, Event Coordinator and Diocesan Youth Executive Committee (DYEC) member, hoisted the National Flag of India. This act marked the formal commencement of LOP 2025, reflecting unity, dedication, and a shared vision among the youth.


The event also featured the arrival of the Regional Youth Cross (RYC) 2025 of the Agra Region, deepening the spiritual significance of the occasion.


Youth delegates, animators, and resource persons from various parishes of the Diocese are participating in this intensive formation programme. Designed to nurture leadership, spirituality, and social responsibility, LOP 2025 stands as a vital initiative in shaping the future of young Catholics.


This programme not only strengthens individual faith journeys but also reinforces the Church’s commitment to guiding youth in their moral and community responsibilities.
