Hyderabad, May 6, 2026: Marking a step towards strengthening pastoral communication in the digital era, Divyavani Social Communications has inaugurated its Certificate Programme in Digital Media at the newly constructed academic block of its facility at St. John’s Regional Seminary Campus, Ramanthapur, with the initiative becoming the first academic programme hosted in the new space.
Conducted under the guidance of Bishop Polimera Jayarao of Eluru and Chairman of Divyavani TV, alongside Fr. I. Lourduraj SJ, CEO of Divyavani Social Communications, the four-week intensive course has welcomed its first batch of 18 participants and is designed to bridge traditional ministry with evolving digital platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Fr. Thomas Christopher, Procurator and Administrator of St. John’s Regional Seminary, formally inaugurated the programme.
Fr. Yesu Babu Kallepalli, Administrator of Divyavani, and Fr. Mandapati Raju, diocesan Communications Director for the Eluru diocese, were also present at the commencement.
The 60-session programme offers a structured approach to both technical and ethical aspects of digital media, with its curriculum divided into four weekly modules covering foundations of digital media, visual communication, storytelling, and SEO; content creation, colour psychology, graphic design, and smartphone photography; video production, script writing, and mobile editing; and digital branding, ethics, and campaign management, aiming to equip participants to create professional-grade content for personal, institutional, and congregational use.
A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on learning through daily practical sessions, where participants engage in activities such as designing posters using Canva and producing short-form video content with professional framing techniques and “hook psychology.”
Fr. Lourduraj leads core sessions addressing digital media foundations, comparisons between traditional and digital formats, and ethical responsibility in digital presence.
The faculty team includes John Sharon, a 2-D animation specialist; Divya Vilvaraj, a freelance programme producer and cameraperson; Harini and Sukriti Sen, communications professionals focusing on content strategy and branding; and Madanu Akhil Kumar, a visual communication expert specialising in SEO and production.
By the end of the programme, participants will have developed a complete digital media portfolio, including campaign plans, promotional videos, and social media content, along with access to Divyavani TV Studio facilities as part of the training experience.
Scheduled to run through May 30, 2026, the initiative seeks to prepare a new generation of communicators capable of engaging audiences across digital platforms with clarity and purpose, reflecting a growing effort to align pastoral communication with contemporary digital realities while maintaining ethical and professional standards.
