Chetpet, Chennai, May 5, 2026: The Vinnarasi Communication Center, in collaboration with the CODEP Training Center, has successfully completed the first batch of its Summer Computer Training programme for students, aimed at equipping rural youth with essential digital skills.
The one-month course saw active participation from students and combined both theoretical instruction and practical learning. The curriculum covered basic computer knowledge, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and email usage, spoken English, typewriting in English and Tamil, along with life skills and career guidance.
A valedictory ceremony was held to mark the completion of the programme, during which certificates were distributed to participants. The organisers acknowledged the blessings and encouragement of Most Rev. Bishop Ambrose.
Chief Guest Mr. Cecil Elango, Director (IT) and District Informatics Officer, presented the certificates and addressed the students. He encouraged them to continue developing their digital competencies and to use technology effectively in their academic and professional journeys.
The organisers also expressed appreciation to Fr. Richard, Director of CODEP, and the diocesan administration for their continued support and commitment to youth empowerment.
Participants shared positive feedback, noting improvements in their computer knowledge, communication skills and overall confidence.
Following the success of the first batch, the organisers have announced the next batch of the Summer Computer Training programme, inviting more students to enrol.
The initiative highlights a continued commitment to education, skill development and the holistic growth of young people in the region.
