Kochi, May 6, 2026: Jesus Youth International and Jesus Youth India have initiated discussions with The Chosen, marking a significant step toward bringing its story to more communities across India through film and storytelling.
An extensive meeting was held at the Jesus Youth International Office in Kochi on 5 May 2026 between Mr. Ashish Nag, Asia Lead for The Chosen; Mr. Ajin Joseph, CCBI’s Catholic Engagement representative for The Chosen; and members of the Jesus Youth leadership team including Mr. Manoj Sunny, Dr. Midhun Paul, and Charles Bastian.
The discussions focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration around The Chosen TV series and the upcoming Crucifixion film release scheduled for early 2027. The shared vision of the meeting was to create more spaces where people can encounter a story of profound love and sacrifice — in parishes, youth gatherings, homes, and community settings.
Over the years, The Chosen has reached millions of viewers around the world through its honest, human, and emotionally resonant portrayal of first-century life. Across many communities, the series has sparked meaningful conversations, moved hearts, and brought people together around a story of love that goes to the very end.
The meeting in Kochi reflected a growing desire to expand that reach across India through the wide network and community spirit of Jesus Youth.
Conversations also explored ways communities could gather around screenings, discussions, and shared experiences connected to the series and the forthcoming Crucifixion film. As preparations continue for the 2027 release, both teams expressed hope that the collaboration would help carry that story of love and sacrifice into more hearts and communities across the nation.
