Two Capuchin Priests Killed in Road Accident at Dorma, Jharkhand

Dorma, Jharkhand, February 15, 2026 — Two members of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, Gregory Bilung (55) and Stanislaus Kujur (68), died following a road accident on Sunday evening, leaving the Capuchin fraternity and the wider Church in mourning.


The accident occurred at approximately 4.20 p.m., according to an official communication issued by St. Fidelis Capuchin Province. Provincial Secretary Sumit Dungdung announced the deaths, expressing profound sorrow while affirming Christian hope in the Resurrection. Condolences were conveyed on behalf of Provincial Minister Herman Minj to members of the province and to the families of the deceased friars.


The message called on the faithful to unite in prayer for the repose of the departed and for strength and consolation for those grieving their loss. Details regarding the funeral rites will be announced once final arrangements are completed.


Fr. Bilung and Fr. Kujur were known for their pastoral service and commitment to the Capuchin charism of simplicity, fraternity and ministry among the people. Tributes and prayers have continued to pour in from across Church communities following news of their sudden passing.
