St. Jude’s Church in Bangalore Presents a Street Play on Christ’s Sacrifice

Maruthi Sevanagar, 27 March 2025 – St. Jude’s Church in Bangalore organised a street play on 23 March in Sevanagar, Naganpalya, led by parish priest Fr. Vivian Richards. The play, performed by the church’s drama team and youth, aimed to introduce non-Catholic audiences to Jesus Christ and emphasise the significance of his sacrifice.

Being the season of Lent, the street play aimed to inspire deeper reflection and encourage acts of penance among Christians. The performance began at Gajendra Nagar crossing, moved through Sathya Nagar, continued to the Naganpalya layout, and concluded at St. Jude’s Church. Throughout the journey, the play depicted key moments from Christ’s life and sacrifice, making the message accessible to the local community.

This initiative was entirely planned and executed by the members of St. Jude’s Church, reflecting their dedication to spreading their faith in an engaging and inclusive manner. The street play not only attracted churchgoers but also sparked curiosity and interest among passers-by, creating an opportunity for dialogue and reflection on the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice.
