Vocation Camp Inspires Young Minds at St. Francis Church, Amritsar, Punjab

Amritsar, Punjab, 30 March, 2025- A half day vocation camp was conducted today at St. Francis Church, Amritsar, under the auspices of the Jalandhar Diocese. The camp, which aimed to inspire and guide young minds in discerning their life's purpose, drew around 50 enthusiastic participants from various parishes within the Amritsar Deanery of Jalandhar diocese.

The camp was expertly organized by Fr. William James, Vice Rector of the Diocesan Minor Seminary of Jalandhar, who took the lead in motivating the children and youth to explore their calling. Upon arrival, the participants were warmly welcomed by the Dean, Fr. Joseph Mathew Manalumpara.

A team of dedicated coordinators, comprising Fr. Dins, Fr. Alphonse, and Fr. Dennis, worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the programme. Through an engaging session, Fr. William James encouraged the participants to reflect on the various types of calls from God, including the call to lead a single life, family life, religious life, or priesthood.

Fr. James emphasized the importance of understanding one's life's purpose, urging the young participants to listen to their hearts and respond to God's call. The camp also featured talks by members of various religious congregations, who shared their experiences and insights about their respective congregations and charisms.

These testimonies served as a powerful inspiration to the students, offering them a glimpse into the diverse ways of living out one's faith. By providing a supportive and nurturing environment, the vocation camp empowered the young participants to explore their spiritual aspirations and embark on a journey of self-discovery.

As the camp drew to a close, the participants departed with renewed enthusiasm and a deeper understanding of their life's purpose.
