Faith and Future: Cathfluencers Unite for Digital Evangelisation in Santhome, Chennai

Santhome, Chennai, 1 April, 2025– The Archdiocesan Commission for Social Communications of the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore marked a milestone with its first General Body Meeting, Faith and Future on 30 March. Held at JD Academy of Excellence, Santhome, the event gathered 56 Cathfluencers—dedicated digital missionaries spreading the Word of God through social media.


The evening opened with community-building activities, including a warm reception, refreshments, and interactive games, fostering collaboration and fellowship among attendees.


Dr. George Antonysamy, Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, addressed the gathering, commending the Cathfluencers for their commitment to digital evangelisation. He urged them to continue their mission with faith and zeal.


Fr. Ritchie Vincent, Secretary to the Commission for Social Communications, presented the Mayilai Madha statue to the Archbishop as a token of appreciation, while the organising team also offered gifts in gratitude.


Honouring a Digital Evangelist The Archbishop personally honoured Mr. Kevin Mario, creator of The Catholic Trumpet and the 365 Days with Church Fathers series, for his contributions to digital evangelisation. A group photograph with all Cathfluencers and the Archbishop captured the spirit of unity and mission.


Keynote and Digital Ministry Discussions Mr. A.L. Sebastian, Director of JD Academy of Excellence, highlighted the importance of Catholics in leadership roles. Mr. Regilan, Director of Operations for the Commission, led an interactive session on digital ministry, with the Commission pledging further support for the Cathfluencers’ mission.


Fr. Ritchie Vincent concluded with an inspiring address on the significance of digital evangelisation, ending with a prayer and blessing. The Faith and Future meeting strengthened the resolve of Cathfluencers to spread the Gospel in the digital age.
