Aquem, Goa, 29 March, 2025 – St. Sebastian Church, Aquem, observed the Lenten season and Jubilee Year 2025 with ‘24 Hours for the Lord,’ an initiative inspired by Pope Francis. Themed ‘You are my Hope’ (Psalm 71:5), the event offered the faithful a profound spiritual experience.
The programme began on 28 March at 6:00 p.m. with the Eucharistic Celebration, followed by the Way of the Cross. From then on, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continued without interruption until 6:00 p.m. on 29 March.
A special Night Vigil took place from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., led by Parish Priest Fr. Agnelo Rodrigues and Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Josely Rocha. The Charismatic and Youth Group of Paroda Parish guided prayers and reflections throughout the night, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere.
Parishioners actively participated, with all 19 Small Christian Communities (SCCs) and various parish associations ensuring continuous prayer and adoration. This collective effort strengthened faith and unity within the community, serving as meaningful Lenten preparation.
The ‘24 Hours for the Lord’ initiative at St. Sebastian Church was a testament to the power of prayer and reflection, aligning with Pope Francis’s call for spiritual renewal in the Jubilee Year.
