New Delhi, 8 May 2026 (CCBI): The CCBI has appointed Sr. Deepti Minj of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross as Associate Secretary to the Commission for Women. The appointment was made during the Executive Committee meeting held on 5–6 May 2026 in Bangalore.
Sr. Deepti Minj brings over 25 years of experience in social, developmental, and pastoral ministry. Her work has been largely among tribal communities, women, and economically disadvantaged groups in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
She holds an MBA in Rural Management from the Xavier Institute of Development Action and Studies, Jabalpur, affiliated with Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya. Her ministry includes organizing Self-Help Groups, promoting cooperatives, and conducting leadership and capacity-building programmes. She has worked closely with government departments, NABARD, and various organizations to implement development projects and improve access to welfare schemes.
She has served as Social Activist, Project Coordinator, and Director of Social Work. She also contributed to a Mobile Health Programme and supported awareness initiatives for persons affected by HIV/AIDS. One of her notable contributions is the implementation of a central government-supported solar electrification project in Gumla District, promoting sustainable development and self-reliance.
From 2019 to 2024, she served as diocesan Coordinator for Women in Raipur archdiocese in Chhattisgarh. In 2025, she was appointed as a National Resource Person, offering training and formation programmes for women across regions.
