Fr Vishal Mal Appointed Associate Executive Secretary to Youth Commission

New Delhi, 8 May 2026 (CCBI): The CCBI has appointed Fr Vishal Mal of the diocese of Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, as Associate Executive Secretary to the Commission for Youth. The appointment was made during the Executive Committee meeting held on 5–6 May 2026 in Bangalore.


Fr Vishal Mal was born on 19 January 1989 in Gopalpura, Jhabua and was ordained a priest on 16 April 2018. He currently serves as Diocesan Youth Director. He completed his philosophical studies at Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary, Jalandhar, and his theological studies at Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong.


Since his ordination, he has served in various pastoral and formation roles, including Assistant Parish priest at St Anne’s Church, Ratlam (2018–2019), Vice-Rector at Preshitalaya Minor Seminary, Jhabua (2019–2020), and Hostel In-Charge at Vishwa Jyoti Boys’ Hostel, Thandla (2020–2022). He later served as Hostel In-Charge and Deanery Youth Coordinator at Catholic Church, Dungripada (2022–2023), and as Asistant Parish Priest at St Michael Church, Ranapur (2023–2024).


Fr Vishal has been actively involved in youth ministry, especially in the YCS/YSM movement, for over a decade. He has participated in national and regional programmes, including the National YCS/YSM Council 2023 and the NSLTP Café 2025 in Gurugram. Under his leadership, the Diocese of Jhabua has strengthened its presence in the region, with representation in the YCS Madhya Pradesh Regional Executive Committee.
