New Delhi, 8 May 2026 (CCBI): The CCBI has appointed Fr. Glasten Gonsalves of the Archdiocese of Bombay as Associate Director of Communio. The appointment was made during the Executive Committee meeting held on 5–6 May 2026 in Bangalore.
Ordained to the priesthood on 5 April 2014, Fr. Glasten Gonsalves currently serves as Assistant Parish Priest at Our Lady of Salvation Church, Dadar, Mumbai. He holds degrees in Commerce, Theology, Law, and Philosophy, and completed a Diploma in Development Leadership from the Coady Institute, St. Francis Xavier University, in 2023.
He has served in parishes in Versova and Thane and is actively engaged in ministries that reach the margins. As Director of Prison Ministry Mumbai since 2019, he has been working in prisons and children’s homes with a large network of volunteers, contributing to rehabilitation and legal assistance.
Fr. Glasten serves as Spiritual Director of the Catholic Lawyers Guild and Secretary of the Archdiocesan Migrant Commission, Mumbai. He also serves as Secretary of the Western Region Migrant Commission, coordinating efforts across multiple dioceses. His work includes leadership training, legal awareness, and community support for migrants and vulnerable groups.
Known for his communication skills and ability to connect with people, he has organized several workshops and initiatives that promote faith formation, social responsibility, and community building.
