National Seminar on Psycho-Spiritual Integration Held in Jaipur

Jaipur, 21 Sept. 2025: A four-day National Seminar on Psycho-Spiritual Integration was held at Gyandeep Pastoral Centre, Jaipur, from 8 to 12 September 2025, to prioritise the importance of mental health along with spiritual and psychological wellness. The event was organised by the Institute of Mission Sisters of Ajmer (MSA), under the leadership of Sr. Goretti D’Souza, Superior General, along with her Councilors Srs. Arlene Fernandes, Ancy Antony, and Aurora.

Around 150 Sisters of the Institute participated, divided into two batches—those aged 35 to 50 years in the first batch, and those between 50 to 63 years in the second. The Holy Eucharist was solemnly celebrated by Bishop Joseph Kallarackal and concelebrated by Fr. Jijo Varghese, Director of Gyandeep Pastoral Centre, along with Fr. Vishal and Fr. Shinto Mathew.

The seminar offered a rich blend of sessions on Crisis Management, Leadership Skills, Self-Care, Midlife Crisis, Inner Child Development, Stress-Relief Techniques, guided meditations, group activities, games, and action songs. Participants were helped to recognise the deep connection between psychological well-being and spiritual maturity, enabling them to face stress, emotional challenges, and interpersonal dynamics with greater resilience.

Practical tools for self-awareness, inner healing, and balanced living were shared, guiding the Sisters to nurture their relationship with God and integrate psychological insights into their spiritual journey. This holistic approach enhanced their prayer life, community living, and apostolic mission, fostering inner peace, joy, and authenticity in their service to others.

The seminar was enriched by the expertise of distinguished resource persons: Fr. Shinto OCD, National President of Catholic Mental Health Ministry (CMHM) in India; Sr. Joan MMS, National Secretary of CMHM and Director of St. Dymphna National Institute of Well-being; and Sr. Rani Augustine MSA, National Director of Outreach, CMHM India and the Associate Director of St. Dymphna National Institute of Well-being.

The National Seminar proved to be a grace-filled and transformative experience, equipping the Sisters with renewed energy, deeper understanding, and a strengthened commitment to live their vocation with compassion and effectiveness.
