Tallur, Karnataka, May 5, 2026: The Aradhya Women’s Parish Association, in collaboration with the Women’s Commission, organised a meaningful Mother’s Day celebration at St. Francis Assisi Church, Tallur, bringing together mothers for a day of prayer, reflection and fellowship.
The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, with Fr. Cyril Lobo as the main celebrant, assisted by Parish Priest aaFr. Edwin D’Souza. In his homily, Fr. Lobo reflected on the profound vocation of motherhood, describing it as a life of selfless love, sacrifice and dedication. He encouraged mothers to remain steadfast in guiding their children along the path of faith and values.
Drawing inspiration from Scripture, he presented Mother Mary as the ideal model of motherhood, marked by humility and unwavering trust in God. He urged mothers to nurture their families with wisdom and integrity, while also supporting one another within the community.
Following the Mass, a gathering was held at Jaya Rani English Medium School auditorium, where Fr. Edwin D’Souza highlighted the role of mothers as bearers of forgiveness and primary educators of values within the family.
The programme also included a moment of appreciation, as the parish honoured religious sisters, elderly mothers and an expectant mother in recognition of their unique vocations and contributions. Mrs. Sylvia Suvaris, Central President of the Women’s Association, was present and commended the organisers for fostering unity and spiritual growth among women.
Over 140 mothers participated in the celebration, which featured cultural activities and concluded with a fellowship meal, strengthening bonds within the parish community.
