Lucknow, 10 April, 2025: Over 200 youth from across the Diocese of Lucknow gathered at St Joseph’s Cathedral Hall on 6 April, for the Lenten Youth Recollection 2025, themed “My Identity in Christ: Fearless and Faithful.” In a world dominated by screens and comparison, the event offered a spiritual reset — a chance to reconnect with Christ.
Organised by the Lucknow Diocesan Youth Commission, the day began with Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Dominic Pinto. Fr. Anup Lakra, in his homily, urged youth to shed the masks of social pressure and embrace their true identity in Christ. The White Gift Service during the offertory symbolised personal surrender.
The programme featured dynamic speakers including Mrs. Judy Cyril Dahanga, Mr. Ajit Dahanga, and Mr. Arpit, who addressed real struggles like identity crises and social anxiety, offering Christ-centred hope and healing. Energising praise and worship, along with action songs, brought unity and joy to the gathering.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation proved a deeply moving experience, with over ten priests present to guide the youth through confession and adoration. Sr. Rajni Tigga FDCC and Ms. Anupma Khushbu Soren provided spiritual support throughout.
Led by Fr. Dominic Pinto and Fr. Anup Lakra, the DEXCO team ensured seamless coordination, with youth leaders handling logistics, media, and liturgy with precision and heart.
Participants expressed how the event helped them release anxiety and rediscover peace. “This recollection gave me peace I hadn't felt in a long time,” shared one attendee.
More than an event, it was a sacred encounter — reminding youth that their true worth lies in Christ alone.
