Jubilee of Social Workers held in Amravati Maharashtra

Amravati, 12 December 2025: Jubilee celebrations took shape in the diocese of Amravati as social workers, NGO leaders, clergy, and lay representatives gathered at JVS Paratwada. The focus was on enhancing the Church’s social outreach under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

Bishop Malcolm Sequeira underscored the Jubilee’s call to spiritual renewal, solidarity, and a renewed commitment to serving the poorest communities.

Br. Varghese Theckanath SG, Director of Montfort Social Institute, led two core sessions that examined emerging social challenges and offered practical strategies for community empowerment. His presentations encouraged the diocese to adopt more coordinated, rights-based, and people-centred approaches in its outreach.

Directors of diocesan-affiliated NGOs later shared updates on their ongoing initiatives, creating space for improved collaboration and cross-learning among various social ministries.
