MOODUBELLE, Udupi, February 24, 2025 – The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Moodubelle organised the Mastering AI workshop on February 23, 2025 at St. Lawrence Church, Udupi, aiming to equip young minds with essential artificial intelligence skills. The event, attended by over 85 youth and parishioners, was led by Rev. Fr. Anil Ivan Fernandes, Director of Canara Communication Centre, Mangalore, and a certified AI professional. The workshop provided hands-on experience with AI-powered tools, ensuring participants learnt how to integrate AI into their education, careers, and daily lives.
The workshop began with an address by Fr. George D’Souza, parish priest of St. Lawrence Church, who emphasised the importance of adapting to AI-driven advancements. Aaron Barboza, President of ICYM Moodubelle, welcomed the guests, while Dane skilfully hosted the event as the MC.
Unlike traditional lectures, the workshop was highly interactive, allowing participants to explore AI tools, automation platforms, and creative applications. They engaged in practical exercises, working with AI-powered design, content creation, and machine learning applications. This immersive approach ensured that attendees did not just learn about AI but actively experimented with it.
Rev. Fr. Anil Fernandes underscored AI’s growing role in the modern workforce, stating, “AI won’t replace you, but someone who masters AI will. Creativity isn’t lost when using AI as an extension of ourselves; rather, it takes human ingenuity to operate and prompt AI tools effectively.”
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, recognising their efforts in mastering AI fundamentals. Ashlita Mendonca, Secretary, ICYM Moodubelle, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the workshop.
With this initiative, ICYM Moodubelle reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment through digital literacy. By organising such forward-thinking workshops, the organisation is preparing young individuals to stay ahead in an AI-driven world.
