Joe Beach, Chennai, 3 October 2026: More than 70 leaders and representatives involved in lay initiatives of evangelisation and proclamation from across India gathered for the 2nd India Leaders’ Summit of Global 2033, held from 30 September to 2 October 2026.
The three-day gathering was held under the theme, “The Kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord” (Revelation 11:15), and focused on the Global 2033 vision of “Reaching Everyone Everywhere” as the Church looks towards 2033, the Great Jubilee of the Redemption.
The Summit brought together people engaged in different forms of lay-led evangelisation, offering an opportunity for prayer, reflection, formation, fellowship and strategic planning.
The gathering was blessed by the presence and encouragement of three bishops: Fr. George Pallipparambil, Bishop of Miao; Fr. James Shekar, Bishop of Buxar; and Fr. Ambrose Pichaimuthu, Bishop of Vellore and Director of the Pontifical Mission Organizations (PMO).
Also actively involved were Fr. Paul D’Souza, Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Proclamation and Secretary General of PMO, and Fr. Raju Mathew, Associate Secretary for Proclamation and one of the Summit coordinators.
Their presence underlined the importance of collaboration between Church leadership and lay initiatives in responding to the call to evangelisation.
The programme included Holy Mass, praise and worship, keynote presentations, testimonies, small-group discussions, panel sharing, missionary formation, intercession and strategic planning.
Participants reflected on progress since the previous Global 2033 Summit and explored practical ways to advance the vision of reaching everyone everywhere.
Major themes included unity in evangelisation, missionary discipleship, families and stronger marriages, youth evangelisation, the power of the Holy Spirit, collaborative tools, prayer and intercession.
The discussions also considered strategies for implementing the Global 2033 vision within the Indian context. Participants were encouraged to strengthen existing initiatives, explore new possibilities and work together in a spirit of missionary collaboration.
A special feature of the Summit was the sharing of testimonies and experiences from different ministries and regions.
These accounts encouraged participants to recognise the many ways God is already working through lay-led initiatives of proclamation. The gathering also created opportunities for networking, mutual encouragement and the development of long-term missionary relationships.
Participants expressed appreciation for what they described as a spiritually vibrant and well-organised gathering, highlighting the worship, music, testimonies, presentations, fellowship and hospitality.
The Summit concluded with a renewed commitment to prayer, unity, collaboration and concrete missionary action.
Participants returned to their respective regions and ministries with fresh enthusiasm to contribute to the Global 2033 vision — reaching everyone everywhere with the Gospel and witnessing together to the Kingdom of God.
Special appreciation was expressed for Mr. Romeo and his team, whose coordination, preparation and dedicated service contributed to the gathering.
The three-day Summit ultimately served as a reminder that the missionary task is strengthened when people listen, pray, collaborate and move forward together.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.
