Jabalpur, February 24, 2026 — A day-long student retreat titled From Broken to Chosen brought 289 students together at St. Aloysius College, offering a space for reflection, prayer, and renewal amid mounting academic and personal pressures faced by young people.
The retreat was led by Maria Antony, Youth Secretary of the Archdiocese of Delhi, who encouraged participants to view personal struggles not as setbacks but as part of a meaningful journey. His sessions addressed emotional and spiritual fatigue often experienced by students navigating demanding academic schedules and uncertainty about the future.
Structured around worship, guided group discussions, and periods of silent prayer, the programme provided opportunities for students to express experiences often left unspoken. Organisers emphasised attentive listening and self-awareness rather than prescriptive solutions, inviting participants to rediscover a sense of identity grounded in faith and resilience.
Several students described the experience as transformative. One participant said the retreat helped shift their perspective from examination-related anxiety to a renewed sense of personal worth and purpose.
The initiative also highlighted the growing demand for educational environments that attend to emotional and spiritual well-being alongside academic development. By framing personal challenges within a narrative of hope and belonging, the retreat addressed concerns extending beyond classroom performance.
Institutional support played a central role in organising the event. Ben Anton Rose, Principal of St. Aloysius College, along with the organising team, coordinated the programme to engage a large number of students while maintaining a reflective atmosphere.
As the retreat concluded, students returned to campus life with renewed clarity and confidence, underscoring the importance of spaces that nurture holistic growth within higher education.
