Fr. Cedric Prakash SJ Elected National Convener of the FORUM

October 20, 2026: Well-known human rights, justice and peace activist, writer and trainer, Fr. Cedric Prakash SJ (Gujarat) was elected National Convener of the Forum of Religious for Justice and Peace (FORUM) at its General Body Meeting held at Ishvani Kendra, Pune, on 12 October 2026.

The other newly elected office-bearers of FORUM are Sr. Rose Thomas SSpS (Telangana), National Joint Convenor; Fr. Selvin Raj SJ (Andhra Pradesh), National Secretary; and Sr. Prema Chowallur SCC (North East). Together with Fr. Cedric Prakash SJ, they constitute the Working Group of FORUM.

Five additional members were also elected to the National Core Committee (NACCO). Along with the four members of the Working Group, they form the National Core Committee of FORUM. The five members are Fr. Anil Almeida SJ (Delhi), Sr. Usha Samuel SRA (Uttar Pradesh), Br. Varghese Theckanath SG (Telangana), Sr. Aloysia SJL (Tamil Nadu), and Sr. Rajni Kujur OLP (Uttar Pradesh).
