Vasai, February 3, 2026: The Conference of Religious of India (CRI), Vasai Unit, marked the Day of Consecrated Life on February 1 at the Dhyanashram Retreat Centre, Vasai, bringing together religious from various congregations serving in the Diocese of Vasai.
The celebration centred on the Eucharist, presided over by Fr Macson Dabre OCD. In his homily, he called on religious to live their consecration in the spirit of the Beatitudes, acknowledging the challenges of religious life while affirming its enduring beauty and relevance. He encouraged the participants to remain joyful and faithful to their vocation in service of God’s Kingdom.
A key highlight of the programme was a session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) led by Sr Rushila Rebello DHM. She emphasised the legal responsibilities of institutions and individuals, the importance of reporting incidents of harassment, and the mandatory constitution of Internal Committees to ensure accountability and transparency.
The programme concluded with fellowship and a common meal. Fr Isaac D’Souza OFM Cap., President of the CRI Vasai Unit, proposed the vote of thanks. The observance provided an opportunity for prayer, reflection and renewed commitment to consecrated life.
