CCBI BEC National Service Team Charts Future Plans in Lucknow

Lucknow, August 21, 2025: The National Service Team (NST) of the CCBI Commission for Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) convened a two-day planning session in Lucknow on 19 and 20 August 2025.

The session was graced by Bishop Selvister Ponnumuthan, Chairman of the CCBI BEC Commission, who guided the discussions with his pastoral insights and vision. Bishop Gerald Mathias, Bishop of the Diocese of Lucknow and Vice Chairman of the Commission, warmly hosted the gathering and took an active part in the deliberations.

Among the participants was Rev. Sr. Lancine SRA from the Diocese of Punalur, a committed member of the NST, who contributed significantly to the planning process. Fr. Jacob SAC, Secretary of the BEC Commission, presented a detailed report on the activities of the Commission throughout India.

All members of the NST participated actively in the proceedings. The meeting centred on evaluating past initiatives, discerning present pastoral needs, and outlining future directions to strengthen and animate Basic Ecclesial Communities across the country.
