Karnataka, August 20, 2025 – The Interreligious Dialogue Commission hosted a unique gathering of spiritual exchange at Subodhana, the Karnataka Regional Pastoral Centre. Organised by Fr. Vinay Kumar, Regional Secretary for the Commission, the programme brought together Buddhist monks from the Maha Bodhi Society alongside representatives from various religious traditions.
The day began with an enriching dialogue between Buddhist monks and participants. The monks shared their perspectives and insights, contributing to a deeper appreciation of each other’s traditions. This exchange fostered a spirit of openness and understanding, laying the foundation for the rest of the programme.

The speakers addressed the theme of “Peace and Fraternity in Society”, offering diverse perspectives from their respective faith traditions. Each emphasised the need for mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation in promoting harmony within communities.
Participants later joined together for a common Sathvik meal prepared by the Brahmakumari sisters of the Kammanahalli Centre. This shared meal not only nourished the body but also strengthened the bonds of fellowship and camaraderie among the participants, reflecting the essence of unity in diversity.
The programme concluded with words of gratitude from Fr. Anil Prasad, Karnataka Regional Pastoral Plan Implementation Coordinator. He thanked Fr. Vinay Kumar for his initiative in organising the event and extended appreciation to all the participants for their contributions.
The gathering ended on a positive and hopeful note, with a renewed sense of commitment to interfaith dialogue and cooperation. The event highlighted how different traditions, while distinct in practice, can converge in their shared vision of peace, fraternity, and service to humanity.
