Book on Laudato Si' Released At Salesian Provincial House

Hyderabad, October 17, 2025: A significant event unfolded on October 15 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, where fifty distinguished leaders gathered to witness the launch of the insightful publication The Green Ten Commandments, authored by Fr. Joshtrom Isaac Kureethadam, SDB.

The book features introductory messages from Cardinals Filipe Neri of Goa and Cardinal Poola Anthony of Hyderabad.

Cardinal Neri noted, “In this ‘Green Ten Commandments’, titled as ‘Pachani Padhi Agnalu’ in Telugu, key insights from both Laudato Si’ and Laudate Deum have been thoughtfully integrated. This book wonderfully distils the deeper meanings embedded in these two invaluable encyclicals.”

Cardinal Anthony added, “Just as the Lord once bestowed the Ten Commandments to Moses upon Mount Sinai for the moral guidance of humankind, so today—through Fr. Joshtrom Isaac Kureethadam, our ‘modern-day Moses’—God grants us these ‘Green Ten Commandments’ for the protection of our fragile, breathless planet and its myriad forms of life.”

Currently serving as Chair of the Philosophy of Science Department and Director of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences at the Pontifical Salesian University, Rome, Fr. Kureethadam’s work illuminates Pope Francis’s teachings on creation care from the encyclical Laudato Si’ [“Praise be to You, my Lord”].

The chief guest Fr. Biju Michael, SDB, Regional Councilor for South Asia, presided over the occasion, with Fr. Thomas Santiagu, SDB, Provincial, delivering the keynote address.

The event was coordinated by Fr. Yeruva Joji Reddy, SDB, with translator Mr M.D. Vincent receiving acclaim.
