Book of Life NGO Launches Online Catholic Formation Series on Chastity for Men

New Delhi, July 8, 2026: Book of Life NGO has launched a new online formation series aimed at helping Catholic men deepen their understanding of the virtue of chastity and grow in authentic Christian discipleship.

The series, titled "A Case for Chastity – Daughters of Lust," began with its inaugural session on July 4. The initiative was developed following weeks of prayer and planning by Bro. Ronnie and Mr. Ajin Joseph, Associate Secretary of the Family Commission of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) with special responsibility for the Pro-Life Ministry.

Organised by the NGO's Masculinity Revival Group, the programme seeks to provide Catholic men with spiritual formation, fraternity, accountability and practical guidance in overcoming lust and embracing a life of holiness. The group also conducts a daily Rosary on Zoom at 10 p.m. IST to foster prayer and mutual support among participants.

The inaugural session, attended by around 15 to 20 participants, opened with prayer led by Bro. Ronnie and was followed by two hours of formation on the Catholic understanding of chastity.

Drawing on Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the writings of the saints, Bro. Ronnie presented the theological, philosophical and practical dimensions of chastity, describing it as an essential virtue for Christian discipleship and authentic masculinity. Particular emphasis was placed on the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas, whose reflections on chastity provided the theological framework for the session.

Participants were also encouraged to embrace the message of Our Lady of Fatima through prayer, penance and fidelity to daily responsibilities. Reflecting on Hosea 4:11, Bro. Ronnie spoke about the destructive effects of lust and stressed the importance of avoiding occasions of sin, cultivating self-discipline and relying on God's grace in the pursuit of holiness.

An interactive question-and-answer session followed the presentation, giving participants an opportunity to discuss practical challenges in living chastity in today's world. The programme concluded with the Prayer for Chastity attributed to St. Thomas Aquinas.

The second session is scheduled for July 11 and will examine the "eight daughters of lust" described in the Catholic spiritual tradition while offering practical spiritual disciplines to help participants grow in virtue and freedom in Christ.

Through the Masculinity Revival Group, Book of Life NGO aims to strengthen the spiritual lives of Catholic men and encourage them to become faithful witnesses to the Gospel in their families, workplaces and communities.
