Balsore, January 23, 2025: The Diocese of Balasore, Odisha, launched its Jubilee 2025 celebrations with a meaningful day of reflection at the diocesan headquarters on January 6. The event was attended by 120 priests, religious, and lay faithful, marking the beginning of a year dedicated to hope, renewal, and service.

Most Rev. Varghese Thottamkara CM, Bishop of Balasore, welcomed the assembly and emphasized the transformative power of the Jubilee year. “Jubilee 2025 invites us to be messengers of hope in our life and ministry,” he said, setting the tone for the spiritual gathering.

The day's reflections were led by Fr. Enoch Macwan, a member of the National Facilitating Extended Team. Participants engaged in interactive sessions aimed at exploring how they could embody the spirit of Jubilee within their communities.

Sr. Mary Thresia, a religious sister from the diocese, shared her thoughts on the experience: “The Jubilee invites us to rediscover our commitment to serving others. Today’s reflections have stirred my heart and renewed my passion for our shared mission.”

Mr. James Francis, a lay leader, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I feel energized and supported by everyone here. This Jubilee is our moment to work together more closely, sharing hope and light with our families and neighbors.”

The event, convened by Msgr. V. L. Chacko, Vicar General, and Fr. Joseph Marndi, Diocesan Director for Biblical Apostolate, set the stage for a year of active participation in the Church's mission of hope, unity, and service. The faithful of Balasore departed the gathering with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to embrace the challenges and blessings of Jubilee 2025.
