Miao, January 17, 2025: The Jubilee Year was officially inaugurated on December 29, 2024, in the august presence of Fathers, Sisters, lay leaders, youth, and the faithful of the Diocese. This momentous occasion coincided with the pre-christmas celebration and was graced by the presence of Rt. Rev. P.K George Pallipparambil sdb, Bishop of the diocese, and Rt. Rev. Dennis Panipitchai sdb, Auxiliary Bishop.
Two crosses were specially crafted: one for the cathedral and another to be venerated at the parish level. Each parish sub-centre was furnished with the opportunity to venerate the cross for a period of 15 days before its solemn transfer to another community. The cross was to be honoured through a diverse array of activities, including retreats, engaging animation programs, stimulating competitions, enriching Bible quizzes, and meaningful prayer services.
The Jubilee cross was officially inaugurated on December 29, 2024, following the culmination of the Diocesan Catholic Women's Convention in Kanubari Parish. This auspicious event coincided with the eve of the priestly ordination of Deacon Manphua Denis Khangham, witnessing the participation of nearly 2000 faithful, 43 esteemed priests, and two esteemed Bishops from the diocese.
The year 2024 was dedicated to meticulous preparations for the Jubilee Year 2025. Church documents were diligently studied, and every deanery was furnished with information regarding the year's significance. Monthly Recollections, conducted at the deanery level, fostered discussions and generated keen interest among participants. Numerous pilgrimages were undertaken to the Christ the Light Shrine Cathedral, Miao, as it was designated as the focal point for the plenary visit of the faithful.
