Apex Run 2026 Celebrates Faith, Fitness, and Fellowship in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 12, 2026: In a spirited celebration of health and togetherness, more than 1,600 participants gathered at Milagres College for “Apex Run 2026,” a community marathon that highlighted the values of unity, perseverance, and holistic well-being.

Organised by Milagres College in collaboration with the ICYM Mangalore Diocese and the Mangalore Runners Club, the event brought together students, youth, and fitness enthusiasts under the theme “Run Beyond Limits.” The initiative sought to encourage a culture of healthy living while strengthening bonds within the wider community.

Church and civic leaders graced the occasion, including Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, who presided over the programme, and Msgr. Lawrence Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of the Mangalore Diocese, who attended as chief guest. Several coordinators, youth leaders, and organisers also contributed to the success of the event.

Participants competed across multiple race categories, reflecting both enthusiasm and sporting excellence. In the 5 km category, Govind Raj and Dhanya Prabhu secured top honours in the men’s and women’s divisions respectively, while Santosh Kumar and Jessica Sarojam finished as runners-up. The 10 km race saw Chennakeshava G. L. and Jayashree B. R. emerge as winners in their respective categories, with Ravi Modanthyar and Jasmitha Kondenkiri securing second place.

Beyond the competitive spirit, the event also fostered creativity and engagement through a social media-based Reels competition, won by Lavita Vas. Special recognitions included the Lucky Bib Award, claimed by Shravan, and a participation trophy awarded to the Mangalore Runners Club for its strong representation.

Supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, the marathon ensured a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Every runner was honoured with medals and certificates, while winners received trophies and prizes.

Apex Run 2026 stood as more than a sporting event—it became a witness to the Church’s commitment to nurturing both body and spirit. Through collective participation and joyful fellowship, the gathering reflected a shared resolve to embrace healthier lifestyles while strengthening the sense of community grounded in faith.
