Agartala, August 4, 2025 – The Agartala Diocese came alive with joy and devotion as it celebrated Diocesan Youth Sunday at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. The event, held on Sunday, brought together nearly 500 young people, including members of the Young Christian Students (YCS) movement, from various parishes and schools across the region.
The Holy Eucharist was solemnly presided over by Fr. Maxim Rodrigues, S.V.D., Parish Priest of Khumlwng Parish. Adding significance to the occasion, the Chief Guest, Honourable Shri Babha Ranjan Reang, Executive Member of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTADC), was present for the celebration.
The day offered a rare and meaningful opportunity for the youth to unite in worship and fellowship. Attendees described the gathering as a memorable and enriching experience, highlighting the deep sense of unity and community spirit it fostered.
The celebration featured a vibrant mix of prayer, culture, and reflection. Alongside the Eucharistic celebration, the programme included a cultural event and an inspiring segment titled “Youth Speaks to Youth,” delivered by Mr. Biswajit Tripura. The entire day radiated joy, enthusiasm, and spiritual vitality.
"It was a day of spiritual renewal and rejuvenation," said Fr. Derrick Augustin, Assistant Diocesan Youth Director. "It served as a reminder of the vital role young people play in the life and mission of the Church."
