Hubli, Karnataka, March 24, 2026: A profound call to inner conversion and renewed faith marked the youth retreat “Metanoia,” held on March 21 at Infant Jesus Church, Shantinagar, where nearly 170 young people gathered for a day of spiritual reflection and encounter.
Organised under the auspices of the Diocese of Belgaum, the retreat drew enthusiastic participation from youth eager to deepen their relationship with Christ and rediscover the meaning of authentic discipleship. The programme offered a vibrant yet contemplative environment, inviting participants to move beyond routine practices of faith into a more personal spiritual experience.
The retreat was animated by Fr Lionel Braganza, whose engaging and relatable reflections resonated strongly with the young audience. Through his sessions, he emphasised the importance of a sincere and transformative relationship with Christ, encouraging participants to reflect honestly on their faith journeys and embrace ongoing conversion.
Blending moments of praise and worship with faith-based talks, interactive sessions, and opportunities for sharing, the retreat fostered a spirit of openness and community. Participants were able to engage both personally and collectively, creating a dynamic space for spiritual growth.
A key highlight of the day was the Sacrament of Reconciliation, during which many experienced a deep sense of God’s mercy and healing. For several participants, this became a pivotal moment, inspiring a renewed commitment to personal transformation and a more intentional Christian life.
True to its theme, “Metanoia”—meaning a change of heart—the retreat offered more than a gathering; it became a meaningful journey of introspection and renewal. The youth departed with strengthened faith, a renewed sense of purpose, and a resolve to carry the spirit of transformation into their daily lives.
