Youth as Agents of Change: Rajanagar Parish in Arunachal Inspires Faith and Leadership

Rajanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, September 22, 2025 — St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rajanagar, pulsed with youthful energy on Sunday as 300 young people gathered for a spirited Parish Youth Animation Programme under the theme “Youth as Agents of Change.”

The day began with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Blasius Tete SDB. Liturgical arrangements, coordinated by Sr. Likha Naina FMA and Sr. Nera FMA, created a deeply prayerful atmosphere. In his homily, Fr. Blasius urged the youth to turn daily to Christ through prayer, the Eucharist, confession, and acts of charity. Drawing from the example of Moses, he encouraged them to intercede for others and embrace confession as a path to healing.

After Mass, the gathering shifted to the parish hall, where Sr. Likha and Sr. Nera energised the youth with action songs and clapping rhythms that fostered a lively sense of community. The highlight of the day was a dynamic youth animation session led by Fr. Blasius, who engaged participants on pressing issues essential for holistic growth.

His session explored faith formation, the importance of education and skill-building, balancing spiritual and worldly challenges, safe migration, cultivating savings, leadership with integrity, business creativity, celebrating India’s cultural diversity through travel, and overcoming addiction. The interactive discussion allowed young people to share their experiences and seek guidance, which Fr. Blasius addressed with pastoral care and wisdom.

Cultural vibrancy enriched the programme with a colourful Jhumur dance, celebrating regional traditions and underscoring the power of culture in driving positive change. A tea break provided time for relaxation and building friendships, further strengthening the spirit of fellowship.

Gratitude was extended to Fr. Amalraj SDB, parish administrator of Don Bosco Rajanagar, whose meticulous planning ensured the event’s success. Towards the close, a young participant offered the vote of thanks, while Sr. Likha expressed appreciation for the leadership of Fr. Blasius, the effective administration of Fr. Amalraj, and the pastoral encouragement of Fr. Joseph Kindo.

The day concluded with a group photograph, capturing the unity, joy, and inspiration that marked the event. For the young participants, the animation programme proved more than a gathering; it became a transformative encounter that rekindled faith, ignited dreams, and sowed seeds of leadership and responsibility.

The theme “Youth as Agents of Change” resonated deeply, affirming that young people are not merely the promise of tomorrow but a present force of transformation in both Church and society.
