XIC Brings Premier Media Formation to Hyderabad, Opening New Doors for Young Communicators

Hyderabad, March 27, 2026 — In a significant step toward strengthening professional media formation in South India, the Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC), an esteemed arm of St Xavier’s College Mumbai, has announced the launch of its flagship Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication and Digital Media in Hyderabad, beginning June 2026.

The expansion marks the first time the Mumbai-based institute will offer its premier programme in the Telangana capital, creating new opportunities for aspiring journalists and media professionals in the region.

The course will be hosted at the facilities of Divyavani Social Communications, located within the St. John’s Seminary campus in Ramanthapur. The programme is designed to be highly practice-oriented, combining classroom instruction with hands-on training in digital media production, broadcasting, and communication strategies. Students will benefit from modern studio and editing infrastructure aimed at nurturing industry-ready skills.

Eligibility for the programme is open to graduates from any discipline—BA, BCom, BSc, BBA and other degrees recognised by the University Grants Commission. The deadline for applications has been set for March 31, 2026.

The initiative comes at a time when Hyderabad is rapidly emerging as a dynamic hub for media, technology, and digital innovation. Church leaders and educators see this development as a timely response to the growing need for ethically grounded and professionally trained communicators.

Fr Dr I. Lourduraj SJ, CEO of Divyavani Social Communications, will serve as the director of the Hyderabad centre, overseeing its academic vision and implementation. Known for his contributions to media education, he has played a key role in developing similar initiatives across institutions such as Loyola Academy Secunderabad, Lievens Institute of Film and Electronic Media, XIM University, and Andhra Loyola College Vijayawada.

The comprehensive curriculum spans journalism, advertising, marketing, public relations, corporate communications, film, digital and social media, as well as event management. By engaging experienced industry professionals, the programme aims to shape competent communicators equipped to serve both the Church and society with creativity and integrity.

Interested candidates may apply through the institute’s official website or write to Divyavanipgdiplomaprograms@gmail.com. For further details, they may contact the centre at 70777 04688, 90321 65123, or 80196 41828.
