DUBLIN, September 18, 2026: Catholic and pro-life activists are preparing to launch a worldwide novena for the protection of unborn children and an end to abortion, with participants expected to join from across six continents.
Organised by Ireland-based Catholic YouTube channel Guardians of the Faith, the nine-day novena will run from September 20 to 28 and will feature prayers invoking the intercession of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, particularly for the protection of unborn life.
Organisers Barry and Anthony said the initiative was prompted by Belfast City Hall’s decision to mark International Safe Abortion Day and its rejection of a prayer protest against the event.
Describing the novena as a call to Christians to oppose what they regard as threats to human life, Barry said the initiative sought to unite Catholics and other Christians worldwide in prayer.
The novena will conclude on September 28, the day before the Feast of the Archangels, which honours St Michael, St Gabriel and St Raphael. The feast is traditionally associated with Michaelmas, particularly in connection with St Michael the Archangel.
The organisers have invited Catholics and pro-life supporters around the world to participate in the nine days of prayer.
