Verapoly Archdiocese Football Champions Honoured after Jubilee Cup Victory

Verapoly, September 9, 2026: Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil of Verapoly honoured the KCYM Verapoly Archdiocese football team for winning the KRLCC Jubilee Cup 2K26 7-a-side football tournament at a function held at the Archbishop’s House, Varapuzha.

The tournament was jointly organised by the KCYM Latin State Committee and the KRLCBC Youth Commission.

Rajeev Patric, President of the KCYM Verapoly Archdiocese, presided over the felicitation ceremony, which brought together KCYM leaders and representatives of the archdiocese.

Those present included KCYM General Secretary Rose Mary K.J., Treasurer Joyson P.J., Latin State Vice President Akshay Alex, Verapoly Archdiocese Political Affairs Committee Chairman Father Francis Xavier Thannikapparambil and Father Koshy Mathew Chellath.

Executive members Vinoj Varghese and Athena Nixon, along with members of the championship-winning team, also attended the event.

The KCYM Verapoly Archdiocese Committee congratulated the players on their achievement and commended their teamwork and dedication. The victory was described as a source of pride for the archdiocese, with the committee wishing the team continued success in future competitions.
