Udupi Diocesan Youth Lead Regional Cross Journey Through 51 Parishes

Udupi, September 23, 2025: The Regional Youth Convention Cross Journey, a landmark event for the youth of the Udupi Diocese, began on 20 July at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Anugraha, and travelled through 51 parishes before reaching the St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur on September 21.

The pilgrimage opened with a solemn Eucharistic celebration led by the Diocesan Youth Director, Fr. Steven Fernandes. Following the Mass, members of the ICYM and YCS DEXCO joined in a special prayer before the Cross was taken to its first destination, Holy Cross Church, Byndoor, in the Kundapur Deanery, marking the official start of the journey.

In the weeks that followed, the Cross visited 51 parishes and a Youth Centre within the diocese, fostering a strong spirit of faith, prayer, and fellowship among young people. Its arrival at the St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur, in the Karkala Deanery, was marked by deep devotion and community participation.

The Regional Youth Convention Cross Journey became a powerful witness of faith, unity, and youth leadership across the Udupi Diocese. It left a lasting spiritual imprint, inspiring young people to carry the light of Christ into their communities.
