Thousands Join Annual Eucharistic Procession in Tura Diocese

Tura, Nov 10, 2025: Around 5,000 faithful participated in the annual Eucharistic celebration and procession held with great devotion and solemnity at the Sacred Heart Shrine, Chandmari, on 9 November in the Diocese of Tura, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya. The faithful expressed their deep love and reverence for the Blessed Sacrament through hymns, prayers, and adoration as they moved in unity through the streets.


The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Andrew R. Marak of Tura and Bishop Jose Chirackal, Auxiliary Bishop of Tura. The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad Kongkal Sangma, graced the occasion with his presence, joining the people in this moving public manifestation of faith.


The Communio Volunteers began their Mission Exposure Programme with this solemn celebration, joining the faithful in their expression of Eucharistic devotion. Fr. Vignan Das and Sr. Margarita Dias SCB, Associate Directors of Communio, witnessed the faith, unity, and spiritual fervour of the people of the Tura Diocese as they walked in prayerful silence with the Eucharistic Lord through the streets. It was a testament to the vibrant and growing faith of the Church in Meghalaya.


A solemn Benediction brought the faithful together in a powerful public expression of faith and unity, standing as a clear testament to the deep-rooted Eucharistic devotion of the Tura Diocese.
