Teacher Seriously Injured in Stabbing at Catholic School in Maharashtra

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, June 30, 2026: A teacher at a Catholic school in Maharashtra was seriously injured after he was allegedly stabbed by a former student during school hours on Tuesday in a shocking incident that has deeply disturbed the local community.


The victim, Vishal Dushing, a teacher at Little Flower School in the Cantonment area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, sustained a stab wound to the chest during an altercation inside the principal's office. He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. School sources said his condition remains critical.

According to police, the juvenile had visited the school to obtain his Transfer Certificate. An argument reportedly broke out during the process, following which the student allegedly produced a knife and attacked the teacher. Preliminary investigations indicate that the knife had been ordered online, and the accused has been taken into custody for further inquiry. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the sudden assault inside the principal's office.


Members of the school community have expressed shock and anguish over the attack. Teachers and well-wishers have appealed to the faithful to pray for the speedy recovery of Mr. Dushing as he continues to receive treatment.
