Nagpur, June 30, 2026: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Nagpur has concluded a month-long environmental campaign across the Archdiocese of Nagpur, inspiring young people to embrace sustainable lifestyles and reaffirm their responsibility as stewards of God's creation.
The initiative, titled "Let's Go Green," was conducted throughout June under the leadership of Archbishop Elias Gonsalves of Nagpur. It was coordinated by Fr. Augustine Antony D'Silva, Diocesan Youth Director, in collaboration with the ICYM Nagpur Diocesan Executive Committee.
Parishes across the archdiocese participated in a range of activities designed to promote environmental awareness and encourage practical action for the care of creation. Guided by the theme, "Think Green, Live Green, Be Green," the campaign called on young people to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute towards building cleaner and more sustainable communities.
As part of the initiative, participants were encouraged to reduce waste, conserve natural resources, plant trees and cultivate environmentally responsible lifestyles rooted in Christian values. The campaign highlighted the Church's growing commitment to ecological responsibility and invited young Catholics to become active custodians of the environment.
The widespread participation of parish youth reflected a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and demonstrated the enthusiasm of young people to translate concern for creation into concrete action.
Expressing appreciation for the success of the campaign, ICYM Nagpur thanked parish priests, youth leaders, animators, volunteers and participants whose support ensured the initiative reached parishes throughout the archdiocese.
The youth movement reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ecological awareness and empowering young Catholics to care for the environment as an integral part of their Christian vocation and the Church's mission of safeguarding God's creation.
