Synodal Workshop Sets Off the Journey to Jubilee 2025

Ranchi, October 17, 2024: The Archdiocese of Ranchi initiated its Jubilee 2025 preparations with a synodal workshop on October 16 at SDC Ranchi. Attended by 145 participants, including priests, religious and lay representatives, the event focused on the Synodal Church and its role today. Archbishop Vincent Aind delivered a key address on "The Synodal Way for being the New Way of Church," emphasizing the Church's need to engage more deeply with its people.

Archbishop Aind also outlined the highlights of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC) document, urging participants to embrace innovation in serving their communities.

Fr. Valerian Lobo, along with the Archbishop presented reflections on four key Vatican II documents: Dei Verbum, Sacrosanctum Concilium, Lumen Gentium and Gaudium et Spes. These discussions aimed to make Church activities more relevant to the faithful.

Participants engaged in group discussions, with reports to be compiled for future reflection. The workshop concluded with a talk on "Hope" by Fr. Lobo, reinforcing the Church’s role as a beacon of hope. Parish priests committed to advancing Jubilee preparations in their parishes.
