Religious Profession Jubilees Celebrated at Amravati Cathedral

Amravati, Jan 9, 2026: Years of faithful religious commitment were celebrated on January 5 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral as Sr. Jeena FCC and Sr. Liset FCC of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation marked their Golden and Silver Jubilees of Religious Profession during a solemn Holy Eucharistic celebration.

Presiding over the Holy Mass, Bishop Malcolm Sequeira of Amravati, led the assembly in thanksgiving for the gift of consecrated life.

In his homily, Bishop Malcolm reflected on the significance and prophetic witness of religious life and expressed gratitude to the jubilarians for their dedicated service to the Franciscan Clarist Congregation, the Diocese of Amravati, and to those living on the peripheries. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, he exhorted them to continue “living in the shadow of the Lord” with perseverance and renewed zeal.

Sr. Jeena FCC, commemorating 50 years of religious life, has served as a nurse and educationist in nursing science and currently serves as the Administrator of Dayasagar Hospital, Amravati. Sr. Liset FCC, marking 25 years of religious profession, presently serves as the Director of the FCC Dispensary at Asadpur. Through their ministries, both sisters have embodied the charism and vision of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation, witnessing to Gospel values of simplicity, humility, and compassionate service, especially among the poor and the marginalised. Family members of both jubilarians were present for the celebration.

A central moment of the Eucharistic celebration was the renewal of religious vows, accompanied by the solemn singing of the Magnificat as an expression of praise and thanksgiving for God’s abiding grace. The jubilarians also expressed words of gratitude for the support and accompaniment received throughout their vocational journey.
